Amid the uncertainty of the change in structure for the Civil Services examination, UPSC has announced the issue of admit cards for Civil Services Preliminary exam to the candidates. The examination is scheduled for August 24, 2014.
The link for downloading of the e-admit cards is present on the official website and will be available till August 24.
There has still been no clearing the air for the issue of the paper structure for the examination and there has been a three-member government appointed committee which is looking in to the matter and the demands of the aspirants to change the pattern of the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) to give level-playing field to those coming from rural areas.
As per Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public grievances and Pensions, “Government will decide on the issue within another 2-3 days,” reported NDTV. Singh, as per earlier reports, was in favor of postponing the preliminary exam in light of the demands of the students.
There has been no change in the dates for the examination which will be selecting Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
There are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each in the preliminary examination. These papers are also known as CSAT I and CSAT II.
