A five-member bench headed by Supreme Court Justice Anil Dave adjourned the single common entrance case for medical admissions to April 7, 2016. The Apex Court also directed the AP, Telangana governments and management associations to file their counter replies by March 31, 2016.

HP High Court dismisses petitions for admissions through CET

A bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan upheld the stand of the government and said “the impugned measures providing for admission on the basis of common entrance test (CET) are reasonable”. There were two separate petitions from the Himachal Private Universities Management Association and Private Technical Institutions Associations.

KEA to conduct CET for all professional courses from 2015

However, the government will require amending a law to pave the way for this change. As per an announcement made by R.V. Deshpande, the Higher Education Minister, he was already consulting the law department about the legal feasibility of the proposed move.
