CBSE to conduct postponed Exams on April 27 in Punjab

CBSE has announced that Class 10 and class 12 exams which were postponed due to Bharat Bandh in Punjab on April 2, 2018 will be now held on April 27, 2018.
The new date for the exams is April 27. The roll numbers and exam centres which were allotted to the students earlier will remain the same.
Class 12 students will sit for the Hindi exam and Class 10 will sit for language exams of French, Sanskrit and Urdu.
The State govt had requested the board to postpone these exams due to Bharat Bandh called by several Dalit organisations against the alleged dilution of the SCs/STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The board said that it had received a letter of request, dated April 1, from the director general (school education) of the Punjab government to postpone all its examinations scheduled to be held on April 2, on account of apprehensions of law and order problems and other disturbances in the day during the ‘Bharat bandh’.
