There being a non existence of a clause regarding a compulsory common entrance test in the admissions handbook for 2018 of AICTE, private engineering colleges in the state of Kerala have decided to hold separate entrance exams for management seats in the first week of May 2018.
Kerala Self-financing Engineering College Association has decided to approach the state admission supervisory/fee regulatory committee for its clearance to conduct the separate test. According to Secretary of the Association – the decision to conduct the entrance test for management seats has been taken The association has also decided to follow AICTE guidelines regarding collection of liquidated damages from students.
Considering the increasing number of vacant seats in engineering colleges, the private colleges have been asking the state government for permission to conduct entrance examination on their own to management seats.
