Karnataka CET to go online from 2017

The Karnataka CET (Common Entrance Test) will go online from the next academic year (2017-18). Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts the “Common Entrance Test” for admission to Medical/ Dental/Engineering and other Professional Courses in the state of Karnataka. Now, the KEA has decided to take it online.

Sources revealed that since all the procedures have moved online, including the process of document verification, the KEA is said to be contemplating on having the CET both online and offline for the first year and then moving completely online.

Since most of the entrance exams are online, such as JEE and CAT, the KEA officials believe that taking the Karnataka CET online would be beneficial.

If the Karnataka government approves the proposal of online Karnataka CET, then mock tests will be held in the first-year Pre University Course to help students familiarize them with the new system.
