The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has been ranked 34 in the top-ranked Indian institute in the QS Asia University Rankings 2018. Last year it IIT Bombay was ranked 46 in 2016. Earlier this year it was ranked 179th in the QS World University Rankings, showing an improvement in its 2017 performance by 40 places.
IIT Bombay has emerged as the only Indian institute to better its performance among the top 100 universities in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2018.
Other like IIT Delhi ranked 41, Madras 48, IISC Bamgalore 51, IIT Kanpur 59, IIT Kahargpur 62, DU 72, IIT Roorkee 93, IIT Guwahati 98. But as compared last year in 2016 IIT Delhi was ranked 36 and IIT Madras 43.
IISc registered the biggest decline in its positions by 18 places, down from 33 in 2017 to 51 in 2018.
IIT Bombay had an overall score of 75.7 out of 100. In terms of different parameters, IIT Bomaby scored 88.1 in academic reputation, 97.5 in employer reputation, 44.5 in faculty-student ration, 96.3 in staff with PhD, 89.6 in papers per faculty, 9.7 in international faculty, 6.3 in international students, 10.9 in inbound exchange students, 9.1 in outbound exchange students, and 41.4 in citations per paper.
Among the 10 parameters, IIT Bombay scored the best in employer reputation with a rank of 21 globally.
In the QS Asia University Rankings 2018, Nayang Technology University of Singapore stood first. National University of Singapore was ranked second, followed by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, third.
