The state education board of Maharashtra and Pondicherry will not implement its plans to upgrade the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) syllabus this year to make it similar to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum. The new pattern will be made after understanding the CBSE Class 10 papers and National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) question papers.
NEET has been declared as a must for admission to private medical colleges from this year and government institutions from next year. The new exam pattern will have more of multiple choice questions (MCQ), which is will bring down the practice of answering long-form writing in students.
NEET is an entrance exam in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India.
