As we know, Maximum schools start their Std-XI classes before the declaration of class X board results. As per the performance, students are given the stream where they can do extremely well but after getting the final scores, they are forced to change the stream.
However, the circular is not applicable to schools that do not start Std-XI classes before the board results are declared.
CBSE also said that if they do, they cannot charge any fee from those students.
CBSE passed such orders after a case was filed in the Delhi HC by a student, who was initially allowed to study a combination of subjects but after the results were out, the student was asked to pursue another combination.
Considering that sometimes it becomes necessary to change the subjects and hence circular has set some rules. Circular read as, “Schools shall bear the burden of all expenses to be incurred by the students/parents in buying a second set of books and study materials for the allocated subject/stream or reimburse them on the basis of the bills produced by them.”
