CBSE looking into the NCERT Class XI and XII Biology book corrections

NCERT Class XI and XII Biology booksIn lieu of the confusion surrounding the NCERT Biology textbooks for Class XI and XII, CBSE has now announced that it will be looking into the matter of the NCERT Class XI and XII Biology book corrections, the National Council for Educational Research and Training.

Excerpting on the matter at hand, Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE, spoke to HT, “We will consider the NCERT corrections in Class 11 and 12 biology textbooks for the evaluation of the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT-2014).”

As per the complaint that the students have been bringing forth on the Errata that has been uploaded by the NCERT on their website is that although the some corrections had been made, to the errors which had been brought forth, but they are still to be properly indexed. This has created confusion on the topics which have been edited and the inability of the students to look them up.

Joshi was found advising the students were study the corrections carefully and stick to the right answers only. “The AIPMT is not only based on NCERT books, but other standard books too. The evaluation is based on the answer keys, confirmed from multiple sources,” he added.

The errors had been pointed through a PIL by Dr Arvind Goyal, who had brought to the notice of the bench around 75 errors in existing biology textbooks. Goyal says he has uploaded the Errata in the desired format on website
