Annamalai University to admit students on the basis of Class XII marks

Annamalai University for this year will be scrapping away the entrance examination for the admission to professional courses such as MBBS, BDS, BE and B.Sc (Horticulture and Agriculture). The admission for this session will take place on the basis of marks obtained in Class XII by the students. The university will be following the reservation system and the fee structure for last year will be followed, announced Shiv Das Meena, government-appointed administrator of the university.

He made clear that the university will be following the Annamalai University Act 2014, and in doing so it will be following the norms set by Tamil Nadu Admission in Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2006.

The number of seats offered for MBBS courses for 2014 intake would be 150, 100 for BDS, 3000 for BE and 1075 for BSc in Agriculture and Horticulture.

The university has also moved the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for getting “equivalence” to the integrated courses as per the reports by The Hindu.
