Over 1,000 candidates who have secured admission in State universities through AP EAMCET 2017 didn’t report at the respective universities.
100% seats in the state universities were allotted after the first phase of counseling. But, as some of the students did not report at their respective universities, the seats are lying vacant.

Many skipped the EAMCET counseling; more than 25,000 vacant seats are left in private colleges. After the first round, out of 70 percent of the student’s registration, only 40 percent reported in the respective colleges.
15 universities across the state had 100 percent admission rate in the first phase; they now having 25 percent vacant seats. In AU College of Engineering and AU College of Engineering for Women, out of 582, 147 vacant seats are left. 118 seats are left in the Kakinada College of Engineering.
Commissioner of Higher Education Department, GS Panda Das, said that many students leave the university seats after they have got admission in prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs and other national institutions. Some students go to private universities. They believe that after the second round of counseling, no vacant seats will be left.
The second round of counseling will begin from 20th July.
