In Maharashtra, the admissions to BEd colleges (around 560) will be made through a single CET (common entrance test) from the coming academic year. All BEd colleges will also have to be part of the centralized admission process.
The single common entrance test will be conducted by the state’s CET cell, responsible for admissions to all professional courses as approved in the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Education Institutions (Regulation of admission and fees) Act, 2015.
The state’s directorate of higher education has put up a tentative CET date, May 29, on its website. The tentative schedule, syllabus and exam pattern have also been released for the BEd CET.
According to the new law, admissions to every professional course, including law, medicine, architecture, etc, in the Maharashtra state will be made through a single CET. Every professional college will have to use the government’s CET scores from this year.
