The Supreme Court is expected to take decision about the stay on admissions of country’s major engineering institutes and over 50000 students that may be affected.
On the July 7 the Supreme Court halted the counselling and admissions of the Indian Institutes of Technology( IITs) National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and other engineering institutes questioning the decision to award 18 bonus marks to all candidates in the JEE Advance 2017.
It now depends on the Supreme Court’s resolution as to what the repercussions could be; they could be reshuffling of classes or holding a re-examination. The court could even ask for re-evaluation which could lead to lead to change in ranking of students.
According to Gautam Puri, Vice chairman of CL educate the halt of admissions by the Supreme Court of the IITs was a right decision.
According to a faculty in charge of the JEE, this is a loss for the engineering students, the questions either had wrong or typos which were of so many marks.
