The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) issued a notification announcing the pattern and syllabus for the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test MHT-CET 2018. The test is used for admission to pharmacy and engineering courses in the state.

According to the notification:

  • The MHT CET will be conducted in May 2018.
  • The syllabus will include 20% from Class 11 and 80% of Class 12 of the Maharashtra state board syllabus.
  • The exam will be of the level of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
  • There will be no negative marking.

The Department of Higher and Technical Education issued a GR in March 2017. It said that the pattern of the MHT-CET will be changed from the year 2018 so that it is at par with the JEE. There was not any detailed information about the pattern and the syllabus which made the aspirants and their parents very confused.

Also, the state asked the Maharashtra Board of School and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) to upgrade the Class 12 curriculum.
