IIT Kanpur launched the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018 official website launched on 28th September 2017. The website confirmed that from next year, there will be no paper and pen format. The JEE Advanced 2018 exam would completely be computer based test. JEE Mains exam, on the other hand, will include a pen and paper format along with the computer based test. All the other important information like syllabus and eligibility is available on the website www.jeeadv.ac.in.
The JEE Advanced 2018 exam will be conducted by IIT Kanpur. On the other hand, JEE Mains 2018 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Mains is the qualifying examination for the JEE Advanced. All the students who are currently in Class 12 (PCM) or have cleared the exam can apply for the test. JEE Advanced is used for admission to Indian Institute of Technology while JEE Mains is used for admissions to the NITs, IITs, and other government and private institutions.
All the students who wish to pursue engineering after school must apply for JEE Mains. There is no separate registration required for JEE Advanced 2018. Students who qualify the Mains will be required to fill the application for the Advanced. There will be a JEE Mains 2018 Brochure, issued by the CBSE by the end of October or beginning of November.
CBSE is going to release the tentative date soon. The exam is usually conducted on the first or second Sunday of April. The exact details will be uploaded soon.
In 2017, about 2,20,000 students gave the JEE Advanced exam.
