The registration for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 began on 9th August. CAT is the entrance test for admission to the Business school like the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and about 100 other top B-Schools in the country. The registration will end on 20th September.
IIM Lucknow will be conducting the test this year. Convener of CAT 2017, Professor Neeraj Dwivedi, said that candidates have enough time (40 days) for registration. There is no need for registering on the first day. He also added that all the candidates must read all the instructions and get their documents ready before applying.

CAT 2017 will be conducted in two sessions this year on 26th November. There are approximately 140 test centers over the country. Candidates can fill four cities in their preference order. However, sessions will be assigned randomly. Test cities and centers will be assigned after the last date of registration. According to Professor Dwivedi, a candidate is usually assigned a city from one of their preference. In a very rare case, a candidate has been assigned an alternate city, different from his/her preferred choices.
